It is the flagship university of the University of Colorado system and was founded five months before Colorado was admitted to the Union in 1876. The university comprises nine colleges and schools and offers over 150 academic programs and enrolls almost 17,000 students. Catalyze CU is a 10 week, summer startup accelerator designed for CU students, faculty, and staff. Catalyze CU combines world-class mentorship and equity free grants with the university’s most promising ideas and technologies. Through this combination, Catalyze CU provides the driving force to make these ideas and technologies succeed.

Founded in 2016, MindScribe is a research and design studio that supports early childhood development by embedding smart technology into stuffed animals. With MindScribe, children always have someone who will listen to their stories and encourage their creativity. MindScribe’s talking stuffed animals are able to engage with children about their 2D and 3D drawings, asking questions and prompting follow-up responses. As a result, the startup solves a major challenge in many classrooms.

Founded in 2018, Uzio is helping bring farming and agriculture into the digital age through a solar-powered energizing device that provides real-time updates to farmers on the condition of their electric fences.
